for everyone

This is my sister, Becca.

She is a nurse, now a Nurse Practitioner.

This photo was taken when she was a flight nurse on the Regional One Helicopter.  She loved her job as a flight nurse, going to the sites and SAFEly transporting people in life-threatening  condition to be treated.

Several years ago, Regional One Helicopter crashed, killing the pilot and both nurses, as well as the patient.  It was a very tragic event, and shook all who were acquainted with the people who died deeply.

My sister should have been on that flight.  Someone asked her to switch shifts with them, and she agreed.  While it was a terrible tragedy for the families who lost loved ones, I thank God that He chose to keep my sister

SAFE

Helluva story ... sometimes the unanswered prayer, the twist in fate becomes what we consider safe to be as well.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting ... I had taken a shot of the fawn beforehand and followed her for as close as I dare get. A few seconds after I took the one you saw, she scampered away.

Powerful post in so many ways, Kimmie...it makes me realize that life can be gone in an instant. Having been in America's Armed Forces, I always say a prayer for our men and women serving in uniform. They sacrifice so many things on a day to day basis...and tragically some lose their lives. My prayers and condolences go out to those families who lost their loved ones...please also extend my hugs to your sister for we are like family when we put on that uniform.

Thank you for dropping by my entry Romy's SAFE haven...I hope you'll get to visit someday, too.

Something like that happened to my mom once. She was pushed by her family to go ahead and get on her flight to come home instead of taking the next one for some precious extra time with them. That plane she didn't take ended up being hijacked. Makes you think - God definitely has a plan.
